I am a mother of three beautiful, now adult, children, and a wife to a very patient and understanding husband. I started my photography business when my children were little so that I could have flexible hours to fit in all the other things I love to do- staying home to raise my children, volunteering at church and school, teaching Young 5's part-time, and playing my new love, pickle ball!
I have been photographing professionally for about 20 years, but have been taking pictures all my life. I was a high school gymnastics and diving coach for over 15 years. When I stopped coaching, it gave me time to persue my other passion, photography. I started taking some college classes to learn a little bit more about the camera and developing film in a darkroom. I borrowed a digital camera for vacation and never went back to film! I learned as I went. Taking full advantage of any opportunity to learn through hands on experience, professional conferences and workshops. My goal when I started was to provide families like me the opportunity to afford quality portrait photography without having to go to sterile studio environments like Sears and JC Penney's.
I specialize in natural light photography and shoot on location only. You choose the site whether it be at your home, a local park, or the beach. My shooting style is more of a photojournalistic approach, in which I try to capture special moments as they occur in their most natural state when possible. My goal is to make your session as fun and relaxed as possible. I am very lucky to be able to do what I love!
